A Flower Grows

Today I woke up feeling sad
But glad
At the world around me
Giving thanks for those in my life
With an absence I can't respond too
Chains which bind me
A life I must fight through.

It is sad to know
A flower blooms
Where I dare not walk
But try to run
Into the arms of emptiness
A season of despair

I often miss what is not there
Disappeared with the wind
Ripped my heart
Torn from my chest
Attempting to move on from the pain

Stopped dead in my tracks
In search of relief
One day to the next
Silenced from her mind

A voice whispers
Fight for justice
Never give up
Souls fly around you
Forever in the night
